Yes. Somehow their website doesn't mention it. S-off and root your phone, install clockwork, download MIUI.us 1.10.14 (not 1.10.7 as its unstable).

If I were you I would go for GS2 paying a lil premium. Nexus S is a big NO from my side due to SLCD screen also its not having 3G calling facility from its front cam. I have used both. Also don't go for any Sony Ericsson phones.

Yep bro, but there is a fix available for the same.

Hmmm, forgot that the screen on an Indian Nexus S is an SLCD and not Super AMOLED.

I am giving up on Galaxy W. Going for neo V. Yeah, I know SE phones aren't that good but this is my only choice. Its 17.5k officially and I can get it for 16.5k. So, guys should I just go for it? Also, does width matter? I mean the wideness of the phone. Its 57mm wide which a little less than average and that is the only thing bothering me about this device right now.

EDIT: how is software supportability and tweakability?

Ok I have finalized Galaxy S2. I will buy it soon. How soon can we get ICS releasd for it by Samsung? Are they quick?

I am so torn between Nexus and S2.

nope , all phones except nexus series offer a non pure android experience , so expect a waiting time of atleast 4 weeks after ICS releases .

PS - motorola will take 6 weeks to do so.

I found out how to S-off and root Sensation from this link:

http://www.androidauthority.com/how-to-root-htc-sensation-21697/

and some stuff from here:

http://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to-install-miui-on-htc-sensation/ (this link is about 2 months old so maybe there is a better version available for download by now)

You can use their method or download clockwork from the Android Market and download the MIUI from there (I purchased the CW and downloaded from there). If you download MIUI downloader, it will only show its not available for this device.

I have been using MIUI for 3 days now but some of its screens and themes looks like they have been made for a smaller screen, Desire probably. But their default theme (and a few others) works fine and look sleek.

Also, @ambar why don't you just wait for Galaxy nexus? I think it'll be around 30k which your budget.

It would be between 30-35k for sure. Also its release date for India is not out yet. Although if you can wait for a while and pay a good difference of 6-7k, Nexus will be good choice for sure.

But if you want to go for one NOW, SGS2 is undoubtedly the best choice.

Although I assure you you won't repent buying SGS2 once Nexus is out yet its matter of choice and budget. Also Ice cream sandwich would definitely be a delicious treat.

PS. Some or the other online store keeps coming up with various coupons and offers, as supersim mentioned its selling for 25k on yebhi.com with a coupon code. Also check out galaxy note if you want a bigger screen.

4 weeks is WAY TOO optimistic. I'm looking at 3-4 months.

Gingerbread updates started rolling out in March/April, 3-4 months afterwards.

Also, ICS is a massive change, everywhere. The 6 weeks promised by Motorola is surprising, TBH. I think it'll take longer for SGS2 and the likes.

Where where where?

Both i9000 and i9003 are available. i9000 has super amoled and i9003 has LCD, among other differences. i9003 has 1650 battery to compensate for the higher power usage of the LCD screen.

So 3-4 months is just too much. How will the experience of ICS vary between Nexus S and Nexus Prime? And can we expect a price drop in Galaxy S2 when Nexus Prime launches?

I think Galaxy S2 has everything that I need in a phone, 4 inch screen, 1.4 Ghz dual core processor, 8 MP cam at full HD video recording, 16 GB memory, Super AMOLED scree. I mean what more can Nexus Prime provide? 12 MP cam? 960x500 display?
