Sony posted a note in Twitter, stating that the production of PlayStation 2 console has come to an end and they no longer produce new units. The PS2 was released on March 4, 2000 in Japan, and over 154 million units were sold worldwide. http://www.the-magicbox.com/gaming.htm bring on PS Orbis. I am also not sure if they should have...they could have still marketed in third world coutnries...like India,Pakistan,Nepal,Bangladesh,Sri Lanka, Russia ...far east etc.... if they could have brought price down to 3500k and games for RS 299....yeh sab countries mein abhi bhi bohat chalta.. playstation Posted November 6, 2012 Report Share Posted November 6, 2012 but then they wont be making much if any profit from the hardware. yes point noted......that is true too....may be on games though...but games bhi pirated people would have gone for even lower cost wala Rs 40-50 wala..... sad though....still cannot get enough of it...have few games already yet to play on it and a lot more need to buy also...wish i had enough money to spare some expense on a new ps2 also...beside my other expenses....
