Do you miss 2d Beat'em ups?

Recommended Posts

I used to have a blast playing 2d Beat'em ups like Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, Punisher etc with my brother.

While i love the different games we have got nowadays, but i still miss those games?

Are there games like these available now? Any suggestions? Do you miss them as well?

Ahh.. those memories playing these games

Batman Arkham Is one

Pure beat em ups

Final Fight Street Wise(PS2) was the last

Turtles is one on PS3 but it got bad reviews & din play so can't comment

I know i can and i still do.

Would be fun to see a new proper 2d beat em up for vita!

Was Nidhoog announced for the VITA? Might be what you need, it is not a beat-em up per-se but carries on a lot of elements from that genre.

I think it has been announced for vita and ps4. Would look into it.

I have downloaded dragons crown. Excited to play it in a few days.

@kyoyohibari

You have lusted some great games there buddy. Add couple dragonball games of GBA to that list.

@Sato

Everybody misses it, obvious. One of my favourite childhood games. But it is a side scrolling shooter and not really a beat em up.

@spearhead

Same here. Played it quite a lot with my friend.

In terms of 2D, Scott Pilgrim Vs the World Game was really good.

It does stuff a bit differently though, introducing leveling up and shopping mechanics.

In the newer bet-em-ups Castle Crashers is good too.

I recently played Lego Batman 2 or something which was 3D but felt like a pretty good beat-em-up style game with a few puzzle elements.

If I am not mistake Streets of Rage 2 is available on PSN.
