It's using completely new assets now..So, you can't compare performance of original with this one.

Never compared it. I just made a statement where people said the original version's performance was bad.

What's the point of having 4K when there is no SLI support? They want single GPU to run the game at 4K? Z9ZgZdu.gif

SLI support is coming.. Till then enjoy it in 1080p

Does it maintain a stable 45-60 fps with Gtx 970 @ 1080p?

Just a quick benchmark test for Gears of War Ultimate Edition PC on High Settings i have an Intel i7-3770 at 3.40ghz and a Asus geforce gtx 970 it runs fine for me at 60 FPS

Me, Ambar, kushal, trigger and lot other Xbox users own Gears UE on Xbox coz Xbox version comes with all 4 Gears games and exclusive access to Gears 4 beta :D

You guys are clearly are not a fan, so why even bother with Windows store version :P

Maybe in reaction of all the VPN users from the US and UK picking up the game cheap from India store. Either way, not concerned since I do not plan to support the Windows Store.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition – New Patch Will Improve Performance, Will Disable Mouse Acceleration

The Coalition has just announced that a new update for the PC version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will be released next week. This update will pack performance optimizations, Ambient Occlusion tweaks and refactor of texture settings to better reflect VRAM requirements. In addition, this update will disable mouse acceleration.

Here are the key features of this upcoming patch:

  • Performance optimizations
  • Refactor of texture settings to better reflect VRAM requirements and to better manage the texture levels for each setting.
  • Ambient Occlusion tweaks.
  • Tuned mouse coming out of roadie run.
  • Disabled mouse smoothing.

The Coalition will also be deploying some updated optimized playlists to help with matchmaking.

Going into more details, here is what The Coalition had to say about some of the problems that PC gamers are currently encountering with the PC version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, there is no word yet about SLI support.

Textures not loading
This will be improved by the update next week. We’ll continue to make improvements here where we can.

NAT problems
We are looking into why this is happening. While we work on discovering the root cause, we are discussing changes we can do to help matchmaking if you are erroneously given the wrong NAT type.

Long Queues
Our playlist change coming early next week should help with this.

21:9 Support
We hear you and we are adding ultra-wide resolutions to the game.

Mouse Acceleration
Our update next week will disable mouse smoothing and increase the responsiveness coming out of roadie run. I’ll continue to read the feedback after the update.

Achievements not unlocking
We’re working on tracking down the reason this would happen.

Last but not least, The Coalition is also looking at reducing hitches on start of level, reducing hitches when streaming level chunks and reducing audio stutter on older CPU’s.
