I have 2 Lenovo's both bought in 2015, and the build quality is absolute sh*t. One of them the hinge broke in little more than a year, the other laptop under panel was so weak the hooks that held it in place actually broke when I was adding extra ram. Swore I'd never buy another again. My HP on the other hand (2009 iirc) is still pristine though its seen the most use and my 2012 and 2013 Asus laptops were still working perfectly fine (and no body damage) when I gave them away last year. Go for Asus. Top notch durability. Edited July 21, 2020 by Walker

North
I second that ^^ We all had Lenovo laptops at home, and I switched to Asus a couple years back, and its a lot better. A lot more durable, and most importantly the keyboard is a lot better. Edited July 21, 2020 by Chirag2001

Think pass are great whereas the HP elitebooks suck balls. Oh sorry forgot I had an old Lenovo Thinkpad T400 that worked till recently (that keyboard ). Gave it away when I closed the business last year. That one was freaking rocksolid.
dante77
Yeah. Looks best but ssd is kinda required. We are now spoilt with the boot timing. Is there a slightly more expensive but with SSD laptop available?

Just Google/YouTube the model number+ hdd or ram upgrade. If those are possible, most likely some guides will pop up. I don't get the trend nowadays - non replaceable 8gb ram and soldered SSDs are so common. f**king Chrome alone eats 8gb. I upgraded to 16gb on my laptop recently.

Like Applel macbook motherboards are very small because everything soldered on and crammed together, modular parts would take more space because form factor, socket etc etc.

I was thinking of upgrading my laptop, and the only options I see are expensive "gaming" laptops. Nothing in the sub-50k segment.
dante77
Those gaming laptops are good for performance usage. I suggest that to my friends who have budget and don't even know a thing about gaming. They are very happy with their purchase but I don't suggest to buy on regular times of course. You will easily get a Decent gaming laptop at around 48-53k but you have to wait for BBD sale. They get super crazy that time.

Wanted something lighter, though upgradeable. Seems impossible.
dante77
Yeah. You're not gonna find thin and light weight gaming laptops at this price point. All the good looking thin ones are above 1L category. Also, my office provided hp probook is great, small and very light weight and also looks good with specs like 32gb ram and i7 and all high end blah blah BUT that pathetic screen!!! Its so bad that you don't even wanna look at that after you use a decent laptop with decent screen. Why those work laptops don't put good display? They cost a bomb. I think mine is around 1.25l or that's what my IT guy said.

They are lighter and have better 1080p screens. You have to ask Lenovo to give you IPS screeens, otherwise they give you shitty TN panel 720p screens HP and Dell also have to be specifically told. North
Benq 24 inch EW2480 Is this a good price? Considering purchasing today. I guess this is a newer model with only HDMI ports. It hasn't been in stock for a week or so.... Old model: Benq 24 inch GW2480 A lot of people in the Flipkart reviews say they bought it for 8K or so, and this new one on Amazon is 12K.
