How many people played demon souls really? It was a fine game but not many people including the PlayStation owners themselves played it. Japanese people didn't even like it so much so that fool Sony exec Yoshida whatever reffered to it as a "terrible and awful" game.

It was only after namco bandai brought the next souls game (dark souls) to all 3 platforms it got appreciated by a large number of people.

You are mistaken. Demon souls was a good seller. It sold very well in USA and sony admitted that they made a mistake of not publishing in in the west themselves.

I know vgchartz isn't really a 100% accurate but it is a fare indicator and it has it at 1.69 million which is great considering that it was a new IP.

cant blame him though. the reactions when they had it playable at tgs was extremely negative. i think i even called it the worst looking game at tgs that time. famitsu gave it a extremely low score by their standards, and the sales in first week were very poor. thankfully, the word of mouth was very strong and positive and it slowly started picking up.

the only reason this game was even made was because one sony producer was fan of from software's kings field and wanted to make a spiritual successor to it. tells you why their japanese div was it the gutter a couple years back.

The thing I'm beginning to like is that he says there is no penalty.

Honestly I played demons souls and dark souls for a couple of hours and found the difficulty to be a bitch. Never bothered to invest time in them as I was irritated as hell. Maybe if they dumb down the penalty it might become more accessible for people like me.

Actually it was the most interesting part of the preview to me. There is no death penalty so I hope the "PREPARE TO DIE" shtick doesn't get associated with the game BUT I read it as a trade-off. The game sounds to be really gory, violent and full of nightmarish enemies and atomsphere. I think MIyazaki is trying to make a full-on horror game with Bloodborne :P Which is just music to my year. As Tyler sir said previously the game just seems to have taken the Tower Of Latria level in Demon's Souls and made it a 100 times more terrifying. So yeah, I don't know about accessible. This sounds as hardcore as his previous games tbh.

I'm not even gonna bother if its as difficult as the previous ones. Don't have that kind of patience :P

Wow, no shield huh? Combat is definitely gonna be so much more fast paced now.

And I can't wait to see how they incorporate PvP style elements into this, considering they're going for a more horror game approach.
