Roads and sh*t degrade with time. So I'm assuming the experience now will be better than later since the player base is active rn.

Oh wow, it all makes sense to me now. Thanks. I want to play this game but do not have that kind of time until summers. Hopefully it remains active until then.

when you say downed... do you mean unconscious or dead?

Unconscious. Right now there is some space, so I am able to ignore and go past him. Still if there were two mules then it's won't be possible to use the road. There should be some way to carry him or put on a truck or something.

Never had a problem honestly, just drive over them and see what happens.

Never cared about them. Only used a few times near mountain knot city.

Already halfway there, reverse pike has served me well.

Ziplines are the best structures out there along with gennys

The structures are there to make the journey a little easier, not to  make the game into a ez mode. They are tools and not something you absolutely must have to complete the hand. You'll also have new PC players next year. If you don't find any structures, build one and. if you use a structure someone else built, give it a like and pay it forward. help someone else.

I have a question. Will gamers who play this game later in its lifespan will have a different experience than the gamers who played it as soon as it was released?

I mean with certain elements such as building roads and path? Won't new players see the roads are already built by early players?

You can only see other players' structures in an area once you've connected it to the chiral network. And to connect an area to the chiral network, everyone will have to traverse through it the hard way at least once.

And yeah, the game might become a little more grindy once the player base dwindles as you won't be having others chipping in to build roads and other stuff.

The first time you enter a new area it's disconnected from the network so you won't see any other player structures. Once you connect it you'll see other player structures which i think is done via matchmaking or some other trick. Over time the player built structures will degrade and get destroyed.

The road pavers are on a set path so if they're connected to the network other players can contribute materials towards building it, if not you'll have to do it on your own.

At the beginning of the game when you see those impossibly tall snowy mountains in the far distance, you never expect the game to make you climb them especially given how difficult it is just to just walk on normal rocky ground initially. I thought they were part of the skybox for first few hours.

Yup this is the 2nd game after botw which did it. Amazing feeling when you climb the landscapes which were considered skyboxes or background structures out of game area.

Completed the game. Story was meh. I just wanted the last 2 chapters to end ASAP. Thankfully there won't be any sequel.

Positives:

- Stunning graphics

- Revolutionary community based gameplay

- Best face capture and motion capture ever seen in a video game of this scale

- Great music

- Stealth sections were fun

- BB was adorable

Negatives:

- Takes too long to get going

- Story can be hit or miss. I personally felt the story was ridiculous and downright lolworthy.

- Shooting sections were bad

From an interview with vulture.

https://www.vulture.com/2019/11/hideo-kojima-death-stranding.html

Quote

While the intricate twists in the plot are manifold, those that are influenced by his childhood are the most compelling. That tar-ridden ocean and the threatening squid monsters, for instance. Kojima remembers at the age of two “my father pushing me out on the ocean on a boat. It was so frightening. I still go into the ocean, and I dive from time to time, but I get really frightened about these big waves and big ocean animals.” His father died when Kojima was 13, leaving his mother with the burden of raising her son as a single parent. He developed such a feeling of protectiveness toward her that when he launched his independent studio post-Konami and began developing Death Stranding, Kojima kept it a secret from her.

“I thought, I’ll tell her once I’ve become a little successful,” he says. “I didn’t want her to worry.” But she died during the game’s gestation. “The ghosts in the game — maybe my parents are one of them, seeing me in this world,” he adds. “I wanted to have that kind of metaphor, that within you, you’re connected to the people that passed away.” Kojima admits to regrets about not telling his mother about the game. He appears shaken as he says it.

🥺☹️
