It does matter, keeping other things constant. Other options available at 40k stack up differently against Pixel 6a compared to mid range Mi phone against an iPhone. Just compare Xiaomi 12s ultra against an iPhone if you want a real comparison between the two companies

Buying a phone is getting frustrating. Cannot narrow down at all. So far shortlisted Motaloda G31, Redmi Note 11, Samsung M33.

How is Samsung A53 5G, there is hardly any good phone at decent prices. I had only owned SGS first generation from Samsung

Sub-30k, impossible to get good camera. Sub-50k, pixel 6a is the best camera. Screen isn't top class though. Can look at Nothing phone as a good compromise. Camera is looking decent, though can't bear Pixel 6a.

Of course all this is assuming you want the latest model. Otherwise look at 3 years old flagships, especially Samsung as they might be in cheap range and will have good screen and camera combo.

Went with Sam ke sung M33. Got good offer on the phone. 14.3k and 6 months no cost EMI.

Nord 2 and 4a's camera are pretty good.

This is so true. 

 

I had some "weird" shots with my wife's iPhone 13 recently - there was one specifically where my daughter's photo seemed like a bad photoshop job over a landscape. Almost like the iphone forget DoF data. 

On Pixels, the only issue I have seen often is poor blurring around hair (or indistinguishable areas between foreground and background).

Bad value. A52S and S20FE 5G are better at around that price from Samsung.

It is possible to get good camera under 30k. Realme 9 Pro+, Samsung A52S/M52/M53 etc, Oppo Reno etc.

One+ cameras are above avg. But for someone who's buying criteria is camera, like bhpian mentioned, i would suggest looking at least at Pixel range. 4A is also great if available in cheap cost. But as I clarified, I'm assuming that he wants only new model. 4A is very good if old phone is not a problem.

My criteria to buy a phone is to have a service centre in your pin code. Have to go to junglee maharaj road to repair a motarola.

I think you are mistaken. Please check the reviews. All the 3 mentioned phones have good camera performance even in low light due to OIS

In that regard Samsung service is top class. They replaced my phones screen in 2 hours.
