HITMAN

For anyone buying the disc....don't play the episodes one after the other. Savor each one as much as you can until you feel like you know it like the back of your hand.

Start by trying to reach max mastery level. Then try to achieve as many challenges as you find entertaining. Trust me they are all fun to figure out and execute. The only maps that might get tedious are Marrakesh and Colorado.

Another reason to do so is that you can then attack the elusive targets in the most optimal way possible. That's the end goal of this Hitman. One shot at the target. No saves no reloads no retries. But you can only do that if you know the machinations of the levels at least somewhat thoroughly.

And playing in this way is the fantasy of any true Hitman fan anyway so don't rush at all.

Also try the escalations or featured contracts mode. They are fun challenges once you've mastered the maps. The amount of replayability this game offers is mind boggling plus the seasonal content will keep dropping in.

I see there are some challenges pertaining to an individual target. For ex: in Paris mission, there are some challenges pertaining to Viktor and some to Dalia. So if I do a challenge for Viktor and go back to main menu, will that register and give me XP or i need to kill Dalia as well in same playthrough and exit the mission.

It will get register moment you complete the challenge, but mastery rewards will only unlock once you have completed the mission.

You can check all completed challenges in option menu under challenges tab.

I enjoyed the story on this. The cut scenes, writing and music were top notch. In fact the story was one thing that made me play episode after episode instead of finishing through each one.

Don't buy it if you are expecting TLOU or fukin Bioshock level of story telling..I have 100% mastery in every level but don't know much about story :P

I like it for it's sandbox gameplay only. Story is mostly garbage in Hitman games and this is no different.

What does 100% mastery level exactly involve?

Mastery level is basically your rank which is raised when you successfully complete challenges in every mission.

Every mastery level unlocks new weapons, gadgets, outfit and locations on map.

For 100% mastery you have to reach Max rank 20 in every mission.

Too bad for the people who bought this digital. Maybe they should add it with some patch.

We are very happy to announce a new difficulty level, which will be released for all HITMAN players as part of the free 'January Update' with the disc launch on January 31st.

Professional Difficulty Level offers extended replayability, new game features, a separate mastery track with unique rewards, tweaked game mechanics and new AI behaviour that combine to create an entirely new experience for all players, whether they’re looking to test themselves in a more challenging environment or earn bragging rights at the top of the leaderboards, which are now separated between difficulty levels.

Professional Difficulty Level can be selected for all Story missions in Season One, excluding the Prologue. To unlock this new difficulty level, you will need to reach Mastery Level 20 for each location. As a clear example; reaching Mastery Level 20 on Paris will unlock Professional Difficulty Level on Paris. Our ‘live content’ such as Elusive Targets and Escalation Contracts will only be available on the default difficulty level, which we are now calling Normal Difficulty Level.

Full release notes for the January Update will be published before the update arrives on January 31st, the same date that HITMAN - The Complete First Season is available on disc.

When you select Professional Difficulty Level, here’s what you can expect to be different:
