Not really comparable when the restrictions and movement of people was completely different in all 3 waves.

Comparing numbers doesn’t make sense.
It is scientifically proven that this variant is more transmissible….much more to delta than delta was to beta & subsiquintly to origin.

Numbers will go up but what needs to be tracked now is hospitalisations.

The curbs now are mostly to let this go through the population slow & steady so that everyone don’t catch it all at once.

No Further restrictions in Delhi due to no jump in severe case reported yet.

Mostly all new cases are asymptomatic or mild.

(So far)

I think restrictions would increase based on the number of days, the positivity rate is above a certain % point. Let's say the positivity rate tomorrow is above 1% then based on grap guidelines more restrictions would be put in place..

It is already more than 1.5%

watch the news.

By old guidelines it should have entered ember alert from yellow.

But they have decided to wait as no case has been had to give care yet.

But yeah it’s too early to say there won’t be any.

Delta couldn’t have created any sort of sharp spike in most of India.

It was out there long enough & there were no visible restrictions for far too long.

It swept through most of the country in early 2021 & then some southern states later on.

The cases were visibly gone & it can’t really be looming around without showing it’s effects for this long.

It is omicron for sure.

The government should have greenlit boosters in time,we are running a bit late.

What % of indian population is actually vaxxed?

Also i won't take the word "mild" for granted. We don't know the long term effects of the virus yet.

90% with first dose and 60% with both for eligible population. Doesnt include below 18 and duuno if it's according to the old census as new one hasn't been done yet or maybe they're using some other data.

Deaths down in UK by roughly 34%

Hospitalisation increasing but stay is very short leading to no actual increase in burden on Healthcare.

Intensive care number starting to go down in comparison to a week ago.

Omicron displacing Delta.
