Man my 11 year old WagonR is in shambles. Wanna buy a new car in the next 1-2 years and would probably go for an EV with the crazy fuel prices. Also, EVs are just cooler. Here's hoping the costs come down a bit and the issues are streamlined by then.

Right now, I think Nexon is the best EV at somewhat palatable prices but still quite a bit higher than its petrol counterpart.

Buy as soon as possible. The price hikes are f**king crazy. I've been waiting for a year, and prices are already up by around 10-15% at least.

For a Made in India product, this is impressive. Looking forward to real world impressions.

The price might be an entry barrier as well as the charge network across India. But this might jumpstart the industry make the whole EV segment go mainstream sooner than later. Exciting times ahead.

At 86k and 1.1L for S1 & S1 Pro respectively, in Delhi, the pricing seems very competitive.

Even the S1 will be faster than any conventional scooter available and range of 120km is decent as well for city use.

Only problematic thing is the charging, even using Ola's Hypercharger, 50% will take 18 minutes, I don't think anyone has time to wait around for 18 mins at a charging station.

When it comes to the network coverage, I think OLA will pull it off and absolutely flood the market with stations.

They didn't mention how much can you top-up in let's say 3-5 mins, that's more important otherwise charging at home will be the way to go.

Any idea on component suppliers? And who's doing the charging stations for them ?

Time to go big on EV OEM stocks. I'm guessing some consolidation to happen in 5-8 years.

The new XUV 700 knocked it out of the park, brilliant pricing for the manual versions, let's see how they price automatic. Sensibly priced product after a long long time.

I think Gabriel India is the sole supplier of components for OLA.

And given it's already 6% up, I might be correct.

No idea about the charging stations though.

Exactly! It has lit the buy a new car bug in me, when I wasn't even remotely considering one.
My 1st gen diesel Amaze still serves me well (low running), but the value proposition of both the base Petrol and Diesel models seem too hard to miss.

Need to see how the reviews pan out, might just plan to replace my current diesel for another diesel.
200Ps petrol engine sounds enticing, but I'm pretty sure, it will burn the wallet as a whole :D (single digit kmpl)

I am in the market had briefly considered the Jeep compass, but couldn't come on term with the pricing. Love the safari/harrier from outside but such a drab from inside. Checked alcazar, sat in, got out.

This one just ticks everything, will book top end petrol automatic probably. Waiting to see it In person and get a test drive.

The perfect SUV would be Harrier Dark edition or Tata Safari Adventure edition from outside with XUV700 interior. Would book in a jiffy.

We are looking for a new car as well but it just seems like by buying a petrol car, we will be paying govt's debt, lol.

I think we'll just wait for a decent hybrid SUV atleast.

If these assholes wanna protect the environment so much, why are they not co developing charging infrastructure?

It's stupid to have fragmented charging infrastructure.

This environment sh*t is just posturing. In they all of them want monopoly only.

Tata is going long with HPCL and other partners on charging stations. Interoperability is starting.

Even ather made its charging standard public or something. In my city there's atleast 2 ev's for every 100 scooters. Thats honestly huge considering it was 0.25% before lockdown.

I'm planning to buy a new bike. I'm confused between interceptor or new Classic 350. Is interceptor worth the extra cash?

They are totally different bikes. Depends which style appeals more to you. I personally would pick up Classic anyday
