so i guess this is now officially the thread i'll be trolling all year :smokey:

:giggle:

But didn't the MOH reboot fail horribly? What will be the market value of a failed series? They would have renamed it BF4. But they couldn't, because of their tough talk during BF3 promotion, when they dissed MW series for churning out the same game each year.

if selling 5 million is considered to be a "horrible failure" these days....well.... :loco:

....and the game is more like COD than BF.

Medal of Honor 2 is now Medal of Honor: Warfighter, according to our esteemed and exalted colleagues at Xbox 360: The Official Xbox Magazine in the USA. It's being developed by Danger Close using DICE's Frostbite 2 engine, and is down for release in October 2012.

Danger Close isn't just handling the campaign this time; they've picked up multiplayer duties from DICE. The story once again stars Tier 1 Operatives, and in a surprise twist, beards appear to be thin on the ground.

You can expect more details at this year's Game Developer Conference on 6th March at 4.00am GMT (8.00pm PST). We'll be there.

Warfighter's story again loosely follows actual events and soldiers, and is co-written by real operators during mission downtime, but Danger Close says it's going for "authenticity" rather than "simulation" (your health will still recharge).

Preacher, Voodoo, Mother and other major players from the last game return, and they'll be visiting locations such as a flooded Isabela City in the Philippines.

This time around it sounds like there will be slightly more player choice offered during missions, with one example described by OXM having players choose how to breach a building (kick down the door, C4, flashbang etc).

Multiplayer is being developed in-house at Danger Close, rather than by DICE, and Tier 1 Operator forces will be represented, including the SAS (British), SASR (Australian), KSK (German), and Grom (Polish).

Fans should also expect a one-shot-kill "hardcore" mode and some kind of co-op support (although a full campaign seems unlikey, says OXM).
