radicaldude
How PS5 owners are playing Hogwarts legacy. How @Vaibhavpis playing Hogwarts legacy on his series l Real nostalgia. Og HP gfx from 2002. Best place to play HL is series l if you want nostalgia with all bells and whistles. However if you want to experience true current gen, PS5 is the system to play it on.

While it’s unclear if that hike will trickle down to temporary contractors at the Mario maker’s North American headquarters, some there say they’ve already seen substantial raises over the last couple of months. What a company, unlike the leechads at the big techs.

What a company, unlike the leechads at the big techs. Kudos to Nintendo. Even though we like to compare apples and oranges in this thread, it's not the same thing. These big techs have way more exposure than Nintendo or gaming. It's never that simple.

Its not that difficult to keep your people, especially developers from studios you just acquired, when your company posts highest profit quarter ever recorded in its entire 60 year history. Lets not defend big techs for pulling this bullshit no matter how much we like certain companies.

That insinuation aside, like I said earlier, it's not that simple. These big techs you talk about aren't just cutting down their workforce despite the profits. On the contrary, they hired way more people around the Covid IT boom and are now (according to them) "preparing for the recession". If you have to blame them for something, blame them for this approach. In total, they probably hired more people than they fired (varies based on departments, etc.). Some firms started mass hiring and throwing money at people around that time, some didn't. The ones that didn't are probably much more stable right now. The approach to hiring was wrong from all the big tech companies not just MS. Having said the top management needs to be made more accountable than they are currently. Just saying we take full responsibility doesn't mean anything.

The hiring also benefited them massively, turning huge profits during pandemic. They didn't hire people from the kindness of their heart. Should've thought about sustainability of your labour force before taking on massive amounts of them. But for them they're not real people, just assets and liabilities. Sach4life
Its not just cutting down the extra fat by all the tech companies. Have seen so many posts of people who were their with the company for more than 10 years and got laid off just like that. Earning billions of profits in a single quarter and doing such things, they fully deserve whatever criticism they get.

RV1709
1 hour ago, CarbonCore said: Capcom and Square too the thing that stands out poorly about Microsoft gaming is that they do not plan ahead. It’s mass hiring to accommodate in their newly acquired studios, mismanaging those studios because the output is delayed and then their overall lack of strong results lead to people being let go. 343 has been horribly mismanaged. So is The Coalition. Both responsible for 2 of Xbox’s more iconic IPs. Phil spencer and team don’t know what to do with all that money and people so they try to get the easy way out to drive up overall top line which is acquisitions TLDR: they would rather pay 70b for an already built, renowned, established IP than use those 70bs to create some solid ground up games and also save jobs in the process. Because the latter is not their strength by a LONG LONG shot Edited February 8 by RV1709
