Their excuse is also kinda bullshit, no? They have denied only because every game has to be certified but why does it matter? Its ultimately just streaming video like Netflix or any other streaming app. I doubt a game being streamed is capable of executing harmful code.

Everything they do is arbitrary hipster bullshit.

Apple being anti-consumer is something people just realized?

If Stadia/xCloud really take off, why mid-core players would play F2P mobile games then.

The Match-3/Hypercasual/Casino will remain same, but the Action/RPG/MMOs on mobiles will be hit.

Apple made $50B from AppStore last year and it's ever-growing. Apple will be losing billions if they lose just 10% of their IAPs.
Their VOD was never match to Netflix, so they didn't push.
.

I mean why would you play PUBG when you can play, far better looking console multiplayer titles with much higher fidelity.

Data speed is no longer a problem anywhere in the world, even on mobile.

So it is a strategic move....

As long as the ping to Azure servers is decent, this could easily become the next big thing in gaming.

Broadband is pretty decent everywhere for the most part but mobile internet is still pretty horrendous. I had to live on 4G this past week because of a broadband (line) cut in my area (because India ) and oh f**k did I find out how shitty our 4G sevices are.

xCloud isn't launching in India, yet. But it will happen next year.

xCloud/Stadia will be launching  with Jio, most likely xCloud.

Timing could coincide with 5G launch.

No company is pro-consumer in capitalism. Remember MS pulled their games from Geforce Now because it was directly competing with their sub. And now they're bitching about Apple not allowing them entry in their walled garden.

I get like 5ms with Azure, the lowest between AWS, Google and Azure.

That's pretty nice! Have you tried comparing the ping with 4G? I'm guessing it's extremely bad.

140ms

But even on wifi its no good, some where about 100ms. This is why wired is always best for gaming.

leaving all the cloud stuff aside (haven't tried anything yet). Remote Play on PS4 has been working great since years (ps4 was fine but they nailed it with pro). I used to stream a lot before (mount+ds4+phone). As long as the pro is connected to a good fiber line (mine is 1gbps spectra), and you have good wifi on phone, it works really great.

So traditional mobile games will certainly get dominated by these cloud run games eventually. Streaming would obviously use less battery and not make your phone heat up too, so additional benefits.

Oh FAAACK! There is no hope for 4G in India. 5G could be better or worse depending on the proximity of the mobile towers. I read that with 5G, the range is much shorter so they need to setup tons of mini-towers to improve connectivity. Maybe that'll lead to improved pings.

It's officially not available in India, so you either need to be the one NRI dude around here or you have to do some VPN jhol.

Many nri dudes over here, bro. At least 5.

I was just checking XGP's current lineup on PC wtf

all of the good stuff is missing, i can only now spot Dishonored 2 and FFXV as proper good games, which aren't too old apart from the always available MS first party games.

I got the 50 rubees sub in Jan-Feb, what a lineup they had back then O_O
