The Playstation 5 thread

I never get the PS5 Pro hype. It is basically diminishing returns. If it was released during Xbox360/PS3 generation when there were tons of games then I would get it.

I guess that some people wants to throw away money because this give them fake happiness for a brief period of time. Just my 2 cents

Why would PS5Pro release in PS360?!?

Do you mean PS3Pro?!?

If yes then that just wasn’t possible during that gen….as proprietary hardware had a totally different architecture to PC’s back then.

There were no middleware.

Now it’s much easier to have mid gen refreshes without much of production & R&D costs.

AMD & Nvidea release a new series of GPU every 2 years.

Things are a lot different now compared to back then.

I spend somewhere around 1000hours on the PS every year. Might as well get the best possible option on a console, this will last for at least 3 years. Seems like a good investment to me.

Games Beyond 2023 are clearly running much better than the blurry mess they are on PS5 & SX.

If one can’t afford or not manage a high end PC….this new trend of Midgen refreshes are a boon.

No more having to deal with the worst possible performances by the end of a console life cycle which we saw with PS360 era.

I’ll definitely buy a PS5Pro once I start playing 2023 games.

No point buying PS6 until I reach 2027 games in my backlog.

Yes PS3 Pro. It's nothing to do with tech. Its' business strategy and how much people are willing to spend. We don't need a new phone or graphic card every year but there are people out there who do. Compulsive Buying Disorder or peer pressure is a real thing.

For PS5 Pro, even if Sony makes 10% of the PS5 sales, it might be a success for them. Making new hardware is easier to make than software.

Oh trust me when I say this.

PS3 tech was not easy to upgrade or modify without having to change the core dev kits entirely!!

The dev cycle was already a nightmare & having to deal with two separate development kits would have been totally non acceptable by the majority of the devs.

Only reason why we reached to the midgen refreshes is because the new gen PC GPU’s & CPU’s made developmental scaling much easier.

PS4pro,XBOneX,XBSeriesS,PS5pro don’t really have standalone dev kits & don’t really require designated development.

That’s why it’s working in this day & age.

PS2,PS3 architectures wouldn’t have made it possible.

Specially the cell processor which never even saw an upgrade & was last of it’s kind.

So it's not really in stock with him? Because bluedart delivers in 2-3 days across India. Looks he procures after order and then ships.

Yeah, he said he has it in his UK warehouse … but he delivers assuredly

I also bought Steam Deck OLED from him, both excellent buying experiences

I sold my PS5 for 30,300 so that helped lessen my cost

it’s a replacement with better hardware, PSSR upscaler, 2TB drive and the Pro is significantly smaller than OG PS5 so that’s nice for handling and space management

Ok. It is a case by case basis. For me its diminishing returns due to lack of games and quite overpriced for what its offers. The only real upgrade is the PSSR upscaler.

Yeah its overhyped by ps fans. Base PS5 more than capable of giving quality experience in almost all games.

DF not all impressed by Pro.

Says the guy who felt the need to buy a 3080 PC despite owning both PS5 & SX!!

PS5pro is the best bet for console gamers who don’t want blurry games post 2023.

DF,IGN,NXGamer,ElAnalistaDeBits pretty much all say so for most games…

I will check with local Pune dealers if they can take my PS5 for decent amount and give PS5 pro for good price. I rather get it in hand asap after payment.

Lol, I waited so long to reply to your questions  IVG was glitched I think, I couldn’t see my notifications or post any replies

I sold my OG PS5 to CEX

My net PS5 Pro cost was 52k

There is just no point playing 2023 onwards games on base consoles if you can afford to switch on to the PS5Pro.

New PC specs are obviously even better but console players don’t indulge in it.
