Competed the game today. Finished the main quest, side quests, all the monster hunts and even completed that Clive’s display setup. Took me around 68 hours. The story/plot and setting gets full marks - 10/10. Perhaps the best story I’ve seen in a video game so far. It’s rich enough to be an actual novel. Gameplay and the world itself is pretty dull though. The gameplay and the rpg progression system is way too simple, especially the whole equipment upgrade /crafting system is pretty basic. You get all these rewards for defeating monsters and all these side quests, but aside from buying some music I found there’s little to no use for Gil and most resources were unused. I got the best weapon and gear crafted and still had a ton of resources left. The level progression is pretty basic as well with points unlocking different moves for each eikon and some upgrades but that’s it. I had quite a lot of unused points left towards the end as well. Overall I felt it’s mostly an action game and not really an rpg. I found gameplay to be mostly just executing one eikon ability after another and you don’t control any of your party members and they keep adding/dropping out based on the quest progression. The world is mostly like a wall paper in the background for Clive to run thru his quests and most npcs have no ai in them whatsoever. i felt the devs used all their budget to craft a beautiful world and story and added the gameplay with whatever was left. Ff7 is leagues ahead overall as a “game” but if I want to just experience the story/world/lore with basic gameplay then this is like the best game I’ve played !!

It's finally ready, need to figure out a way to hang this on the wall now. I am planning to go for a custom wall hang like seen on Instagram. The length of the lego compared to a 14" laptop. Sitting pretty at the table for now, till I get the wall hang.

yeah got mine on 21st Dec I believe. 3-4 weeks later than promised, but at a great price of ~65K so I guess it turned out a good deal at the end. BTW, he also has 5000 series graphics cards (including 5090) on pre-order. The price is again very 'reasonable'. 195000 for 5090 (which is lower than official Nvidia Indian price of 214000). No warranty though. If anyone wants to pre-order :p

I built a new 9800x3d rig just this week, so I guess I can chime in. Will post rig details (and pics :p) at the end of post but first my 2 cents on your questions. I am also waiting to secure a 5090 GPU, and my first stop generally is pcpricetracker.in. Then r/Indiangaming and Google in general. As a general advice, if you can get a SBI cashback card, do get it. it will provide effective 5% off any online purchase, which would really add up. I would 'highly' recommend a X3D CPU, as at 1440p effective resolution paired with a powerful graphics card, it would matter. As for price, I found this at 40k. Mind you this is OEM version with no cooler, so thats extra cost. You can also install keepa on Amazon and set alerts when the price drops below 40k. It's deals season so its highly likely it may drop. Also keep tracking pcpricetracker. If you are set on other processors, 9900x can be bought for about ~37k on Amazon w/ SBI card right now. Can also get for ~39k at other places. Otherwise the higher the number the better, so go with 9700x. I am not sure about intel processors as they werent even in my consideration set. For 9000 series CPUs, 6000MHz CL30 RAM is recommended. 32GB should be enough. Get 2 sticks only. Any 600 series onwards mobo will be fine (will need bios updates, except 850/870 mobos). Do not get Anything else other than 650/670/850/870 as those lower number mobos cant overclock and suck. Fo PSU, use this list. Get a good quality cabinet of reputed company (Lian Li, NZXT etc.) with good airflow. AIO is optional but good air cooler at least is recommended. I do not understand how people still question Nintendo's ability to make good hardware when that has never been their focus. Even after being a part of the gaming community for years, people are still comparing the hardware specs and innovation while Nintendo has continued to churn out great games. And not to say that one cannot compare the cost breakdown of a handheld with a screen to that of a Ps5. Nintendo is not a company which had a strategy of incurring loss on hardware to make it up in the software. Comparison for the sake of comparison is futile, we all know the next Mario Kart or Donkey Kong or Zelda in addition to playing other cross-platform games will sell like hot cakes. People who do not even buy their favorite console on Day 1 because there are not enough games, should not question Nintendo.

Hmm. Mostly a problem in countries where religion is still powerful followed by weak governments. Families are always desired no matter the financial and mental health you have. However India is slowly following the western mindset (less marriages, more divorces, change in spending habits from family to personal expenses, etc). Dont assume that the western life is getting better. The western middle class is the hardest hit with the increase in housing and medical costs, drop in wages, high unemployment etc due to cheap immigrants flowing in whether legal and illegal. I still dont get why US and Europe are protecting illegals over its own local populace. I was there. They are much worse than 10-20 years before. DEI is not helping them. The East like Thailand are doing way better than the West IMO.

Above 30 gamers or family guy usually finds it hard to take time out of their busy schedule for gaming, I dont think there is any other major hurdle in being a gamer. Just Dont listen to others, specially if you're living in a society like India. India is a hardcore patriarchal society and in some ways it still like living in ancient times, gaming after certain age often looked down upon and childish. Personally i dont have any problems with such people, bcs they're in my family too, I just avoid indulging in any such topics when im with them. Whats funny is that not just the elders who thinks like that, there are lot from our gen also, imo these people just dont know how to enjoy life in todays time, atleast people around me are like that only, I often find them confused when it comes to hobbies, and struggling spending time with themselves, usually they end up doing house chores even if they have some time for themselves, bcs doing a plumbing or fixing a door is not at all childish, its about being a man.
