Light artillery (fixed pieces). MG08 / Lewis and Vickers MG's. It is not a mace It's a grenade....the oldest if it's kind Also seen in The Order 1886 That head is too big for a grenade. And those spikes are a terrible design choice. Most grenades in WW1 looked like antique versions of current design and the German Stielhandgranate did not look that ostentatious for practical purposes.
