 Microsoft's gaming revenue for Q2 of 2021-22 - 5.4 billion USD .

And Your estimation - 80*3 = 240 Mil , Assuming  you think MS sold 2 million consoles in that quarter at an average price of 400$ (-15% distributor margin) would give 2*340= 680 mil .

That's 920 mil . Actual revenue 5.4 Bil. And now don't point towards game sales/MTX revenue cause according to you that's non existent.

So yeah pretty stupid analysis

Where is Xbox division revenue?!?!?
just like Playstation posts it’s own numbers standalone.

I can’t really comment on things like solitaire for windows taken into Xbox calculations.

Gaming is gaming revenue. Primary source of income for gaming is gamepass and Xbox. Everyone knows how crap windows store is.

Solitaire is a freeware afaik.

Don't deflect and accept when you are wrong like an actual adult.

Minecraft selling f**kton on Playstation,PC or Nintendo has got nothing to do with GamesPass or Xbox.

And? It's an IP owned by Microsoft gaming. They can use the funds to fun other gaming ventures. Don't be daft. Doubt you can do that though.

It’s got nothing to do with the profitability of their Console or Subscription business, the whole point of the debate & the reason why it’s in this thread.

yeah keep going on for the sake of it…..no one is losing any credibility but you.

& before any other genius comes up & says that Minecraft can’t be the reason for those numbers.

Certainly Xbox & GamesPass can’t be either even if they were getting f**kton of game sales royalties or even if all of those 20m subscribers were paying $15 a month….which everyone laughably knows is clearly not the case.

No one can audit or bifurcate these numbers but M$ themselves & how hard it really could be to just post your Consoles,Sales & Subscription PROFIT numbers under the Xbox subdivision.

Sony & Nintendo have been doing it for the longest time I can remember.

Let’s do a bit of analysis.

Considering it has sold 600k hard copies (according to VG) at retail….I think it’s safe to assume it’s sold the same on PSstore. (though any sane person would say it must have sold much more digitally)

So 1.2m x $70 (it was hardly on discount up until recently) = $85m

So it has recouped most of it’s budget & probably has broke even before being put on a subscription service.

So anything Sony earns beyond this point through new $ coming in starting it’s subscription month is quite frankly surplus profit.

Which most likely is going to be used to make future sequel & Housmarque games even better.

In comparison Halo Infinite which was probably budgeted around 300m(some even estimated 500 including marketing).

Was given day1 on a service which is quite frankly making $3-4 a month on an average(considering all backdoors, free months & few stupid ppl who still paying $10-15).

Which probably makes $4(taking higher side coz I like xbots) x 20m(subscribers) = $80m a month.

In that figure of $80m a month M$ has to:-

1.)Build high budget AAA games like Gears/Halo/Forza/flight simulator all combined.

2.)Build new Studios like Initiative & pay their salaries for 5 years without any visible output.

3.)Buy Small studios like Ninja Theory/Undead labs & pay their salaries for 5 years without any output.

4.)Aquire big a*s publishing houses ranging anywhere between $8-80billion so that not only they own rights to entire back catalogue for the service but also keep the engine of their dream pipeline AAA every quarter up & running.

5.)But now since all of the back catalogue is put up on service even these houses will face major cut backs in revenue & M$ has to pool in to keep the monthly salaries & projects up & running.

Is this the post you were hyping up for 4 days? To wait for thread to unlock ...

Agreed MS should share these numbers clean and simple so that everything becomes clear.

Jio did the same thing and look where it is.

But they didn’t really lay out a dreamt up sustainability bandwagon to impress ppl.

They were quite open about it.

1 year free & then start paying.

Shills & media leaches weren’t tossing around fake figures of 10….15 …..xyx dollar a month figure.

& you know end of the what really got them where they are?!?!
Better & improved services over their competitors.

Free content/service Market Penetration can only take you to the level playing field against a competitor who’s been out there much longer than you.

But continued market share…..needs what is much more important, that’s good work.
