So there may be PS5 units lying around in govt labs since May-June. For PS5 to launch on Nov 19, stock would need to hit India by end of October, which means it would need to be shipped to India from Europe around 1 September (18 days ago). This is the same process for Xbox Series X and if MS has committed to Nov 10 launch, Sony should be able to launch by Nov 19 if they play their cards right. Besides, brands like Apple go through this process every year so it shouldn't be impossible. On a positive note, BIS certification is not needed for peripherals, which is a relief. Is BIS certification for electronics a new thing or has it always been there.

That said, you can still buy PS2 in India, in those national market kind of shops. I saw a couple years back, I think it was going for 3000Rs, Less than the cost of one PS4 game. I have been searching locally but no luck yet. Will keep an eye out. 37 minutes ago, i_rock098 said: At this point might as well emulate it on any decent rig. PCSX2 is quite good. However would prefer an actual console.

BTW, thanks for the BIS info. Any idea if Sony actually has put it up for certification as you said? Sony TV Division is pretty prompt in such stuff. Even their highly premier "Master Series" TVs which are uber expensive and the 85"+ TVs which are meant for highly premier customers come out here day 1, without fuss. Hope their Playstation Division has shaped up, after the PS4 sales.

Save 8k but there is risk of damage in transit, warranty issues, etc. In India, we might get no cost emi and bank offers so it just evens out in the end. If you take 12 month no cost Emi, that's 4-5k saved in interest. hmm thats true as well. I guess I should stop worrying about it for now and start worrying when the time comes. Launch plans are out anyway. Will wait it out.

I had got my PS4 Pro from Dubai for around 28K INR and AED was around 18 INR then... All these crazy exchange rates seems like better buy in India.. 47K would be a sweet price indeed... Bajaj finserv did not offer either.

Lets say we get at least like a 3K cashback on this, a good deal for a 45K
