I saw CarbonCore playing GoW Ragnarok last night & when looked closely it was PC symbol.

 

This is actually a very very impressive move in the right direction for maintaining PSN activity & Crossplay across PS & PC.

 

We can join each other just like we do on Playstation.

Ubisoft and EA yes, although Ubisoft rarely sells new games there. Bungie you don't need to unless you want cross-progression. MS and Activision same, don't need to unless you want these features. Ragnarok the first thing it shows you when you boot up the game is PSN login, not settings or brightness or EULA "agree to continue" but PSN login right in your face.

I am old enough to remember that we played UT3 with PC guys with crossplay while Xbox players were in their own little island because MS cockblocked it

Those were different times. Today every big publisher and every big live service game now supports crossplay. Sony cant block crossplay for any live service games now

It’s been half a decade since Sony has accepted crossplay too.

 

& M$ probably accepted it just a year or two before Sony…

How many 3rd party games supported crossplay during 360 days?  Zero.

 

 

3rd party devs were the one who pushed crossplay during PS4 gen especially Fortnite who pushed MS and Sony hard for crossplay.  Crossplay became popular coz Epic pushed it hard for Fortnite.

No Game was big enough to put immense pressure on platforms.

But developers had been yearning for Cross-play for the longest time.

 

I remember M$ categorically refusing to Release FF14 & UnrealTournament 4 on XB360 because of their crossplay features.

Yep me too.

 

Infact UnrealTounament 3 was exclusive to PS3 was this very reason for good 1 year….360 release wasn’t allowed until they disabled crossplay for that platform.

 

FF14 decided to entirely skip two generations of Xbox
