Bhpian Bali
What can you do?? Our govt cannot provide the infra, tax breaks, electricity, labor laws, favorable land acquisitions law for companies to come and set up their manufacturing in India. I dislike korean products but at least Samsung and LG have started manufacturing their products in India.. And even if we buy products made by Indian companies they are all Made in China. I was so proud of buying Micromax mobile but I am not any longer as eventhough it is being sold by an Indian company it has been manufactured in China.. Same with my Acer laptop which is made in China along with the mobile network equipment which is majorly sourced from Chinese companies like ZTE and Huawei which is funded with loans from Bank of China. Spacescreamer
Again, i am not talking about the big companies' products like nokia etc which have manufacturing base in china.. as there is no alternative, but there are people who keep ordering stuff like full hd phones which are made by local firms of china, just cuz they can get a cheap full HD screen phone. That is the heights of having no scruples. Also the cheap local stuff u get in the mkt which are basically promoting china's dumping policy to destroy the target country's local set up. All that in China ? I will give you infrastructure (that includes electricity), but that is about it. Land reforms ?? well all land in china is state owned and is leased to pvt individuals, citizens or otherwise. Labor laws ? Oh sure, a country as appreciative of basic human rights as China is will surely have the most noble of labor laws. As for tax reforms if you mean bending over backwards to accommodate foreign players and allowing them to use our resources to make $$$ and not pay a dime as tax (see: Vodafone case and subsequent squabble over GAAR), then I believe you are severely misguided in your opinion. I'd rather be in a relatively free country that is in 2nd or 3rd position than live in an (perceived) economic and geo-political behemoth but Autocratic country. ... China has been able to develop infra for their own people to give them a competitive edge. How sad it is that JLR is not ready to start a manufacturing plant when essentially it should. Look at the setup Tata Motors has in Pune. Some of them run along a whole stretch of roads at different places.. Screw foreign companies i hate them a little less than chinese companies.. I do not buy anything Korean any longer and as long as possible go for Indian manufactured products.. but the fact that I am typing this on a chinese made laptop sort of negates the whole sentiment.. anyway enough OT from me.. Spacescreamer
so what you are saying is we should fill more coffers of china by buying more expensive stuff instead of buying the cheaper ones? Eh? From where did that interpretation come from?? I said that we cannot avoid the products of companies like nokia as they have their manufacturing plants in china.. but these are not like 100% going into the pocket of the chinese. the plants take a cut in a way.. I was referring to the small scale industries of china which flood our mkts with their cheap products and people gen fall for them owing to their low pricing. We should most def try not to purchase them. A reduction in their demand will def hit their industries' profit. More so, these small scale industries have to show profit else they perish the very next fiscal year.. all the more reason to kick away their dumping policies. How does it differ if you are buying a phone made in china for Nokia vs buying a phone made in china for their own ching-poing-li? BTW, do you also play only PS2 street cricket and Ra.One The Game?
