But days gone was an fantastic game (My opinion)

It is now especially with PS5 patch, but at launch the opinion wasn't very good. You can read through the DG thread up until few days after release.

Yeah launch was disaster. But the story was good.what hurt them was reviews ,look how much a disaster cyberpunk 2077 is and still got good reviews from gaming journalists.

History tells us that fan favourites no matter how badly reviewed

Always make a comeback

so I wouldn’t think that the IP is dead

So there’s hope for The Order 1886 and Until Dawn sequels then? That’s good news.

I don’t think any PS fan needs to believe Twitter accounts or blog posts on internet these days

It’s been purposely negative

& Every other article piece on internet is how Phil Spencer is the saviour of Xbox with a “turn around”

Don’t believe in this trend

just believe in official new coming straight from the companies

I don’t think this is about negativity, Phil Spencer, or the “competition”. How is the competition even mentioned or relevant.

It’s just investigative journalism. It’s a good thing, and you learn a lot about what’s actually going on behind the scenes.

If we only believed official statements, we’d never learn about the dirt under the carpet. The Rockstar crunch situation or what happened with Anthem, and that’s just in gaming. There are plenty of examples of it making a difference in politics or the environment, for instance. Investigative journalism is a good thing overall, especially from well researched vets like Jason Schreier.

I really hope people aren’t influenced by posts like this.

No one needs that tlou remake. days gone sequel not being greenlit is BS, legit great game even if unpolished by their standards.

Bigger news is that the new AAA team seems to be disbanded, that's the second unannounced studio to be shut after Manchester one.

It's very understandable tbh. When your company is under performing, you can take risks because your investors don't expect as much of you. Sony is just hitting gold with everything they touch for the last few years which has raised their stock price and their expected IRR to high. They need to keep making that much returns which means they can't squander money on projects which might not make as much money. Remember, a decent profit doesn't cut it anymore. Their management has to make super returns on right about everything to sustain their stock price.

This, unfortunately, makes sense. :(

Thats fine, but gaming companies are based on Product inmovation. If they stop inmovating, revenues will automatically go down.
