In short, no and no.

Ok, I was getting this crazy idea of  spraying everyone with COVAXIN or throwing them in a pool of it

So everyone gets infected with inactive virus and develope ABs

Whats the point then?

She had tested Positive before , who knows the damage. Again, everyone is saying the vaccine is not bullet proof, there are cases where people will get hospitalized, or in unfortunate case like this die too. The % of such cases is drastically improved.

Riders wear super expensive jackets, cars have 6-7 airbags, but some people still pass away, but majority walk out safe with broken bones or bruises. So point that needs to be kept engraving in our dumb stupid public is that even once you get vaccinated, don't give up on mask. You can still catch it and rare case be critical too, mask has to be way of life till end of 2022 atleast.

Another query..

If after vaccination anti bodies are formed, can people donate plasma for covid patients.

Yes!

A lot of people were saying that in stead of hunting for plasma of recovered patients, plasma of vaccinated can be used.

Won't be a bad idea to keep masks forever what with the horrible pollution and all that.

If you can you should, but hopefully by end of next year we have 60-70% of adult population vaccinated. That should really help, personally for me I don't see mask going anywhere for me for next couple of years. Need to arrange some ducati masks :P

My concern is little kids, they will end up being super spreaders if virus starts impacting them at a higher rate. Hopefully the nasal vaccine comes soon, and we get vaccine for kids by end of year or at-least mid next year.

Actually, it's not that simple.

Convalescent plasma which has ABs generated as a result of the immunological response of the patient to the Coronavirus is sought for plasma donation.

ABs which are formed by the vaccines are generally targetting a feature like spike proteins or the mRNA which might not be entirely useful for the therapy.

If you had Covid and you got vaccinated then you gotta wait around 28 days to donate, right now I don't think you can donate plasma just by getting vaccinated and waiting.

Cadilla's ZyCov is targetting release for kids as well and also testing an injection-less procedure, the former is closer to getting approved as they are doing trials along with the adult population and is expected to be approved by June-July. The latter might or might not work but they are hopeful, so fingers crossed.

Was finally able to get a vaccination appointment for my mom. They are giving covishield.

I'm really concerned about the crowding, so apart from the double masking what other measures should we take as I'll be accompanying her

Double mask, gloves and a face shield.

Depending on how they are managing the thing, wait for your turn away from the crowd and go upon being called.

If it's just a straight up queue then you gotta assess if people around you are sensible or it's sensible to just come back later.

We are gonna stand away from the dumbass crowd anyway. Also may try going early b since the time slot is 9-11

In Delhi, time slots means nothing.

It's just first come first serve.

So go as early as possible or as late as possible irrespective of your slot, only then you would be able to avoid the crowd.

Only Apollo hospitals in Chennai are giving Covishield vaccine for 18+. Rs 850 each. Covaxin availability is rare and only 250 each. What a cost gap between vaccine.

Because 850 for Covidshield is from the privately procured quota while Covaxin must either be for 45+ or being offered at a subsided price from the state quota.

Covaxin batch belonging to the private quota costs 1450-1500.
