@Joe Cool What really is the difference in content between Standard and Gold edition - am trying to see if the "Year 1 pass" (presumably additional maps and other DLC) cheaper bought with this bundle - or as an add-on later.

"We’ll be evolving our world and expanding on the fiction through Seasons, each one lasting for about three months. Every Season will come with a new free and paid-for Battle Pass, delivering new content to chase after. In our first year of live service, we will deliver four Seasons, with four Battle Passes, four new Specialists, along with more fresh content."

Cosmetics, early access at launch, artbook, soundtrack, battle pass paid tier skins.

All post-launch maps, weapons, specialists, etc game changing stuff is free.

Bingo, thanks!

If I buy through Steam, it does show up on Origin (for in-game friends tracking, etc)?

Yep. Gets added to Origin and is required to play the game. Runs in the background even if you buy it on Steam.

I'm glad they got rid of the SP. It was always bland. It means more resources towards the MP which is always good.

Since they're charging for season passes now, I wish the game were cheaper to begin with. Don't want to spend $70 upfront and then God knows how much money for the season passes. ^_^

Season pass is for cosmetics.

Maps are all free. They were in BFV too.

Will this have crossplay? Or can I play against console players only?

Crossplay was not confirmed. PS4 plays with PS4. PS5 plays with PS5. Same for Xbox and PC.

They might add it later but currently no info on crossplay.

EA recent games all have crossplay. So wouldn't be surprised if they don't add it to 2042 after launch.

The trailer didn't do anything for me 'cause I was expecting gameplay. It looked cool but cinematic CG (even it was in-engine) doesn't excite me anymore. No SP is also a bummer, as they charging more for next-gen versions.

Damn this countdown to a countdown trend though. I was all set and ready at 7:30 PM when the livestream was like, "hold up, you gotta wait for another hour". Very annoying.

You play BF player ? You SP guy and this game not for you.

Criticising BF for not having SP is stupid. 99% BF players play BF for MP only.

I'm not saying it's the wrong move, I'm just voicing my opinion. I understand BF and even COD are mostly MP games.

No need to call me out as stupid

It was always nice to finish campaign and then jump into MP. While SP of BF1/V weren't great, it definitely was better than average(liked the episodic nature of it) imho. Seems like its become a fad to call anything less than great as 'trash'. That said BF is mainly an MP game, would have been nice to have a campaign but maybe they have more content planned instead.

BF games are the only ones I've bought within weeks of launch, V left a bad taste and had to abandon it after about 70-75 hours, lowest in BF MP for me. Hopefully this will capture the magic of BC, 3 or 1. For now, looking forward to the gameplay trailer.

Same here, was really hoping for a solid campaign,  like in BF3, That games campaign is one of the best in my opinion,  maybe close second to MW3/Bops2

BF1 too did a pretty decent campaign of WW1

Anyways let's wait for the gameplay,  as long as the gameplays fresher n tighter, I'm fine,

Just don't want it to be a blind OTT copy-paste

Yes it is a full MP trailer and this BF may not have a SP Campaign. Whether it is MP or not, the trailer is poorly designed and just shows off the technical features - hundreds of soldiers everywhere, throwing all sorts of vehicles and adding that tornado that destroys anything.

It remind me of that awful first BFV trailer.

Agree,  I mean for a reveal trailer. From hype standpoint , it was disappointing and poorly designed as you said.  Clearly Lacked a flow .

Making an MP only game is okay. Charging $70 for it is not.

Atleast for $70 sony mostly gives you an unforgettable single player experience (leaving niche titles like demons souls, returnal etc.) However, MP experiences mostly depend on your skill level/your team's skill level/your opponents skill levels/ other factors.
