AtheK
Taufel retired I guess. For final, two very weak and not so knowledgeable umpires were there, I must say.Yes he has retired, he was commenting on the rule. Also, he said in such scenario, umpires might make mistake. But it's a WC final FFS. Umpiring and rain were the spoilsport of this WC. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk

Because there were repeated discussion, but no umpire checked the rulebook properly. They just wanted England to win and go home quickly.
Banz
Very dramatic game, but both teams were guilty of losing their initiative at various points. England won't mind it one bit, but New Zealand will take a long time to get over this. New Zealand were far more defensive than when they played against us. They were in full control with England 4 down but let the game drift away. Didn't bowl Santner much out of fear. Very meek from an otherwise aggressive captain. Just as it looked like England would win easily, Buttler threw it away. Some bizzare freakish luck (and some bad judgement) with the boundary catch and the overthrow. As for how much the extra run and strike change could have affected the game, it is debatable. They would have needed 4 off 2 with Rashid on strike, who would have taken probably an single. Maybe England could have won outright then, maybe NZ could have. The umpiring standards have been poor. The two umpires officiating the WC final were Dharmasena and Erasmus. That itself tells you how low they have got.

AtheK
He will not be picked for WI team, stating he is being rested along with kohli and bumrah. Message has to be sent out, funny how he continues to be so adamant. Maybe and I really don't mind a farewell game for him in Ranchi, he deserves a send off. Bug then he should come and state that, I will retire when India plays in India next.

silentassassin
What BS is this ? If you want him to retire, have some balls and tell him. What transition period ? The transition period is already over. 80% of the team is set for the Next T20 WC. We dont have any challenging series this year tbh. Isn't it a coach's job to groom players? Get a better set of coaching, even a wicket keeping coach if required. This makes no sense

KnackChap
The guy who refuses to play for his home state in ranji saying that he doesn't want to block some young kid's place is doing exactly that at the national level. Shame
harsh1387
Dhoni is destroying his legacy. His wish. So, media reports say full team including seniors will go to Windies minus Dhoni. Good.Sent from my SM-A505F using Tapatalk

Black_Hawk
Following a board and full council meeting in London, ICC has suspended Zimbabwe Cricket with immediate effect. In an official release, the apex body stated that 'the ICC Board unanimously decided that Zimbabwe Cricket, an ICC Full Member, is in breach of Article 2.4 (c) and (d) of the ICC Constitution which imposes an obligation on Members to provide a process for free and democratic elections and to ensure that there is no government interference in its governance and / or administration for cricket respectively." "We do not take the decision to suspend a Member lightly, but we must keep our sport free from political interference. What has happened in Zimbabwe is a serious breach of the ICC Constitution and we cannot allow it to continue unchecked," ICC chairman Shashank Manohar said. The ICC also confirmed that all ICC funding to ZC will be frozen and representative teams from Zimbabwe will not participate in any ICC events. Plus Pant is already doing it in tests, full time.

The reason Sachin was not there because he became eligible for it in 2018 only. There is a rule which states that one should not have played any international cricket for last 5 years before they can be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Sachin played his last match in 2013. Stop with this comparison BS all the time. Yeah. There is no way in hell any Indian batsman who played with Sachin gets there first unless there is a rule that makes it happen.
