Just back from watching the imax version. Full house and lots of clapping esp when the movie ended.

The scale is much bigger this time around. The cgi is also much much better. Its not just how good they were ( and not just by indian standard) but how well the director uses the vfx and his imagination to enhance the scenes. The action was also good and there are lots of setpieces and all of them are real good. There's also a bigger emphasis on emotions and that stupid meme that came out of the first movie is handled superbly, There was pin drop silence in the auditorium when when it happened.

Some of the negatives would be that the movie shd have been a trilogy as the 3rd act starts and ends abruptly or it shd have been 20 mins longer. And as good as the vfx are some shots look like it needed some more time or they ran out of budget esp the one In the epilogue is the worst cgi in the series.

At a time when we're paying anywhere between 300-500 per ticket to watch a movie bollywood crapola with 50 year old shits doing the same thing movie after movie, this is worth every single penny you pay for it. I might actually go for a repeat viewing once the tkt prices and the initial hysteria drops down.

Same opinion as krackchap. The movie was a visual spectacle. Absolutely loved it and will get it on blu when it release. It is so refreshing to see such good stuff come from india. This is truly world class entertainment and deserves to be watched on the big screen.

There are surely gonna be haters for these (you know who you are) who are going to hide behind the veil of "hey it like my opinion man" and say the movie sucks. You guys are the type who will have no problem with sh*t like the fate of the furious but laugh at truly well made stuff like Bahubali

Also shame on idiot kannadigas who tried to boycott this film because someone said something long time back. This film shows shows a traditional karnataka sport and then involves it in a big setpiece giving it more exposure than anyone from that region could ever hope for.

Not just that, one time patriots here are furious(rightfully so, imo) that a good kannada movie is being taken off the screens for the sake of giving more theatres to Bahubali. It sure is taking its toll on new and good kannada movies with some debutantes in it. Agree that we have to support all Indian movies, but they also have to be treated equally, based on its theme and implementation.

For theatre owners it's not about supporting movies, but only about which movie can make them the most profit.

We go through this in Delhi all the time. Whenever a high scale bollywood movie releases it hogs all the screens, and good hollywood movies are left with a handful of shows.

Man the prices are crazy..weekend ticket is Rs800..will have to pass a couple of weeks before the prices come down to normal..

Depends on where you are. In Bangalore, they've passed an order wherein ticket prices should be capped at 200 bucks

Theatre owners will show movies that will earn them money. They are not in the business of charity to give all mpvies equal chance. Same thing happens everywhere.

And that is the passive reason that they didn't want the movie to come here for. They dreaded it and it happened. Most of theatres stopped screening some regional movies even once per day Edited by Clenched_Balls

Surely can't be applicable to multiplexes as well !? Because 500-600 is average ticket price now in Inox/PVR

500-600? Holy cow! That's really expensive.

In Delhi it's usually 300-350 in PVR /Inox. The more expensive DT theatres go upto around 400-450.

In general it hovers around 250-350 here as well (morning/weekday shows being cheaper).

But sh*t has really hit the fan with Baahubali 2. PVR Gold is charging 1200/1400 for the same, I kid you not.
