But I'm having doubts about the show itself tbqh. The trailer is disappointing. They've shown only the Aes Sedai - who are frankly one of the weak links in the story. No mention of Rand/Mat/Perrin. No mention of any of the Forsaken, only that CG monster. A Hogwarts introduction to Saidar/Aes Sedai, but not a single mention of Saidin. A person new to the series, who has no knowledge of the books will think this is a show about the more mature live-action version of Little Witch Academia or a medieval version of Harry Potter or something. I expected the trailer to at least show the contrast of Saidar/Saidin or the opening of the WoT books with LTT's madness and Ishmael's triumph. Or the Dragon Reborn's Prophecy mentioned at least. This was just sad. I think its because they want to keep it a secret who The Dragon Reborn is - if you remember we don't know anything until Eye of the World ends anyway. This is only the teaser - the longer trailer will be coming later this month. The Forsaken aren't really huge in the beginning anyway. I know the source material is insanely good, just gotta have faith.
dylanjosh
Being very cautious about Wheel Of Time. Trailer looked just okay to me. Some parts looked really good, The good: - Loved some of cinematography, the circle motifs, the colours. I didn't even imagine it as being so colourful in my head. - The weaves look exactly as I pictured them in my mind - The locations looked good The bad: - Some bad CGI. Sorry but that Myrddraal looked terrible. The trollocs... well looks like they kept failthful to the book covers. But IDK if thats a good thing. I'm scared to see what they do to Loial. - Acting of the main cast looked very stiff. Some parts reminded me of bad CW stuff. - I just found out they're going to cram the first two books into 8 episodes Edited September 3, 2021 by dylanjosh

CG was decent, especially the White Tower. it was no Rivendell/Lothlorien from LOTR - but it was decent enough. Other than that, I completely agree with your opinion. And I'm kinda afraid they are going to ruin it. 2 hours ago, dylanjosh said: - Acting of the main cast looked very stiff. Some parts reminded me of bad CW stuff. This is what I'm afraid of. They showed the main trio for all of 2 seconds, with a derpy rom-com type expressions, then went straight back to the superhero segment of the Aes Sedai. 2 hours ago, dylanjosh said: - I just found out they're going to cram the first two books into 8 episodes WTF!! This is the first I heard of it. How the heck are they going to do that without butchering the story? There is enough material to make 1 season out of the 1st book. At the very least I hope that each episode is around 1:30 hours, so there is at least sufficient material coverage.
Guest
Billions is back. Awesome start. ? Giamatti looks so different after that weight loss. Looks young but also old about to die lol. Good pacing, the writing and dialogues were also much better. They should get rid of Taylor and all the sjw shite. Really adds nothing to the show anymore. Rian is most obnoxious character on the show. Prince, Axe, Chuk were all good. Looking forward to next episode.

dante77
This was a fun but short episode of What If... I liked it. Despite doing all this crazy stuff. The tone was very light.

Locations do look good. and yes, it was a lot darker and grittier in my head, not this vibrant but we will see in the actual show. Sometimes they color grade trailers differently to make it more eye catching, similar to youtube thumbnails. The Myrddraal looking terrifying enough to me. Making it faceless was troublesome, I'll take this. I'll take any cosmetic changes pretty much (including making Siuan a black woman despite her being noteworthy of being pale skinned in the books) as long as they don't f**k up the story. Also, the first season will derive from the first two seasons. But not in its entirety. Elayne isn't there in Season 1 despite her being in the first two books. So we'll have to see how things go. Loial has been cast already so you can go see that if I'm not mistaken. We will just have to see. I'll ignore if and just remember the books in case they do f**k it badly.

Django_3101
What's going on in "The White Lotus"? Watched 2 episodes and kind of got bored. Didn't find any character interesting. Is the whole story leading up to the first scene in episode 1? Loved the background music though Edited September 10, 2021 by Django_3101

It is more about the various characters and their hypocrisy, and yes, it does lead to the first scene. @Bird Bird Birdany more such recommendations?
