All tourist visas suspended by the Indian Ministry till April 15th 2020.

"All travellers including Indians, arriving from or having visited China,Italy,Iran,Republic of Korea, France, Spain and Germany shall be quarantined for 14 days."

Apart from these countries, travellers from other countries might be subjected to 14 days of quarantine as needed.

Better to put all the plans on hold now even if the ticket deals are amazing.

May be a dumb question but if the bookings are non-refundable, why cancel? Wouldn't it be smarter to wait it out a take a call a week before the dates?

Most airlines are offering refunds or credits on the wake of covid19, I'm also trying to cancel using the same route. Whatever I can save.

Thailand isn't that dangerous man, just remember to wear protection so you don't get other infections.

I know, it's the travel advisory of remaining in quarantine for 14 days that I don't want.

Here is the new advisory link http://bit.ly/2TL1h1c

Now the Gov can quarantine you on return for 14 days, so it's not just home quarantine.

US President Donald Trump has announced sweeping new travel restrictions on Europe in a bid to combat the spread of the Coronavirus.

In a televised address, he said all travel from European countries would be suspended for the next 30 days.

But he said the "strong but necessary" restrictions would not apply to the UK, where 460 cases of the virus have now been confirmed.

There are 1,135 confirmed cases of the virus across the US, with 38 deaths.

"To keep new cases from entering our shores, we will be suspending all travel from Europe," Mr Trump said from the Oval Office on Wednesday.

"The new rules will go into effect Friday at midnight," he added.

Please no racism or stereotypes here. When it comes to stereotypes, India is the king. Don’t make it sound that Indians are all saints. We would rather blame each other rather than work together against a common problem. We have a lots of ugly practices that continues to this day due to traditions and customs.

I'll not get into racism part (which I'm also against) but China is the reason we have Covid 19 and the whole world is suffering.

Previously also China was the reason for SARS, so they are the troublemakers.

You miss the point. Though the virus originated in China, it’s pretty immature to keep pointing out the obvious. As it is helping no one or not improving the situation. We need to fight together as humans and not as a individualistic character (like Indian, Hindu etc) to separate yourselves from the world since it is not your fault.

As for racism, some communities across the world are denying or isolating Asians due to coronavirus stereotype.

There's a reason why Chinese started eating wildlife and you can squarely blame the communist totalitarian government for this. It was either famine or eat bats.

It could have happened anywhere but man i agree they have some weird menus.

I just hope the Virus isnt heat resistant.

How do you stop this now. By the time you identify a person, he/she would have infected so many.

The pune family came from mumbai, the couple , their daughter and the cab driver got infected. How do you contain this now? So difficult.

It originated in China primarily because of the wet wild animal markets.

The (now withdrawn) Chinese law allowed killing and selling wild animals (even rare species), and if you have not seen any Chinese wet market, prepare to be shocked. There are multiple rows of different wild animals in cages, one over the other. The excreta and urine and other secretions of the top animals fall on the ones in lower cages, causing cross contamination in the long run. While almost every species has unique viruses which affect them, such cross contamination causes mutated viruses, which finally infected humans.

So yeah, China is to blame. While they are now able to contain the virus, almost all countries throughout the globe are affected, thousands have died, commerce is affected, everybody is panicking. All because of a f**king stupid Chinese law. Zero sympathies for the country. We wouldn't have had these "novel" viruses like SARS, MERS, COVID19 had it not been for China.

As if India is any better in the implementation of the laws. Such conditions are very similar here for most animals except for the wild and rare species. Go to Crawford market in Mumbai.

The coronavirus definitely won’t be the last virus and is a important lesson on how to combat such spread in an increasing populated and migrating world. Blaming the source is definitely not the answer.

India has always been a hotbed of diseases due to poor hygiene. Luckily its spread is local but create a bad reputation worldwide.

IMO our govt has been handling this very poorly.
Only after the person complained of sickness, who recently traveled from Dubai/US/Italy, they went for a check and tested to be positive.
If only they tested all the passengers at the airport itself, it could have been contained a lot better.
Only now they are imposing the travel bans and visa restrictions to affected areas so long after the outbreak. Guess they were waiting to see if it bites back till they take action..

Not necessarily. Yes, Indian markets are unhygenic. And yes, being in such places or eating the meat there will make you sick. But there is a difference. All the sickness that can be caused by unhygenic conditions here are well documented and preventions and cures are available. Not so the case in China. Pangolin is a very rare, endangered species of ant-eater. Except China, no one will even bother to search for it. In it's internal organs, a virus, similar to COVID19 is found. But it's not necessary that Pangolin is the cause of Corona. For you see, in China, Pangolin will be kept in a cage - alive, but in pathetic condition, on top of another animal (say a bat). This bat might be kept on top of another rare animal. All are treated poorly, so the Pangolin excretion might be eaten by the bat, whose excretion is eaten by the 3rd animal. So the COVID 19 has a chance to be mutated.. And finally, when the animal is cut for humans to eat - it spreads. We only know about SARS,MERS,COVID19 till now because it directly affected humans. But who knows how many viruses escaped that affected other species, and which might later affect humans? And that's the problem. In history, such sicknesses did not exist on the Earth - but exist now because of the Chinese. China is also the biggest market for poachers, now that the West no longer likes Trophy Hunting.

All said, COVID19, is just a flu. And it has brought the World to a stand-still. What would happen if the next virus is a fast-spreader and a quick, lethal killer? Imagine what would be the state of the World? There is a probability of that, because of the Chinese practice of mixing and eating everything. Hence, if the Chinese can be shamed into stopping this practice, maybe we can avert this disaster before it happens. Ultimately, COVID19 - just like fever - is a symptom. Chinese practices, going back all the way to Chinese medicine like eating powdered Tiger Bones making you strong etc., are the root of the problem.

@GunnerY2J Entire World is to blame for HIV/AIDS.
