They all are flopping actually. Pointless to go for higher marketshare when market itself is on life support. All under watchful eye and exclusive deals from Sony/Nintendo. Is there any proof that COD revenue for Sony is huge enough to fund first party games?

Not everyone has deep pockets like daddy nadella does. Some actually need to work to earn revenue. Spender is planning to destroy gaming as we know it. Spender should be fired asap. even after spending billions on acquisitions , he has nothing to show yet. just some teasers and a new controller and nailpaint each month. 2

How difficult is it to understand. CoD pulls in a lot of revenue wrt sales (softwre+console+expansion packs). A part of that revenue is in turn used for making AAA Blockbuster titles that we expect sony to churn out. If someone closes the tap on that fund, ofcourse projects would get impacted. They would have to lower their standards to xbox levels to develop some yucky GAAS based titles which no ardent PS fan wants. This was spenders plan in the first place. if you cannot compete at the top when it comes to creativity and passion, bring others down to your level so everyone competes in mud!

Is there any proof that COD revenue for Sony is huge enough to fund first party games? Whenever Sony hits a dry spell like right now, COD keeps selling. They cannot rely on first party game sales outside release window cause used market destroys most of new games sales. Which is why they have to bundle their games at throwaway prices with consoles, resulting in huge sales figures but small revenue generated. Meanwhile 5-6 studios keep working on games and Dev's would expect to get paid. So COD sales are very welcome in periods like these. Not wrong to say they help with finding first party games. Even during the so called "dry spell" as per your definition, sony manages to sell consoles that spender can only dream of in some wet dream of his

Gamepass hasn’t been able to move the needle on active subscribers even after selling it for 1$ and bundling their shitty service with chips
