Watch MrWhoseTheBoss's video. I agree with his analysis. Apple got it out early even with its flaws to ensure app development starts asap. This thing will be viable 5-10 years from now as a replacement for the phone. This is a long term game.

I totally see a device like this - maybe in a different format - as a common tool within a decade.

I don't relish a future where a device as isolating/siloed like this replaces my existing devices. Last thing I need is for technology to take over my life even further.

This is extremely cool. I love such bio data analysis.

I'm really tempted by the M2 MBA15

Only if it came with more ports. All that wasted space. At least they could have given 2 more C or TB ports.

But it is tempting. Will be nice to see comparison between 15 and 16 in terms of AQ, usability etc (not the chip per se).

We can hate all we want, but I think this will be a common sight in the next 10 years.

After years of AR/VR being gimmicky, Apple is pushing the category to make it refined enough for higher adoption (barring cost). The UI seems extremely refined, great visuals, all the YouTube techbros are going gaga after using the navigation (just eyes and fingers).

It needs to be lighter, better battery, and much cheaper cost. Tbh, with Apple's dedication to this category, this is the next phone level revolution.

I don't see this getting mass adopted in the next 10 years. I will sell more as prices go down but no way it is going to be a ''revolution''.

I think we will see quick iterations and leaps in terms of the actual hardware in next 5 years.

I won't be surprised that a 90% version is released in next 3 years, which is as small as a set of 3D glasses or somewhere near that.

The slope at which a technology evolves is very steep after it is adapted by mainstream companies.

Sooner than later we will be at a stage that these things will basically resemble thick aviators.

Read that. Super interesting stuff. That, inputs from Vision Pro, ML, complex co-relational algorithms, and they can approximate and co-relate your neurological state with a bunch of stuff the watch (which has sold in much higher numbers, and will) can measure and track.
MKBHD’s report on how well the hand and finger gestures are tracked, along with eyes to navigate the UI show the tech and implementation are top notch. Apple has also mentioned more than once how they’ve virtually eliminated lag (12 ms, about a tenth of a duration of a blink) which has been, according to them, the reason for fatigue and disconcertion for people while using such devices.

Super isolating stuff. As great the tech is, I'm not a fan. No human touch (twss).

Yeah, but what a “me-time” device.

Remember, Google glasses died for a reason.

I don't think people will be doing Yoga wearing these as advertised as the very idea is ironic!

To be fair, Glass died because it was a sh*t product, and since they don’t have stores worldwide where people could try, any appeal it might’ve had never got a chance to take off.

It’s been a while since something in tech has me truly excited.

Yeah. I expect the 2 chips to consolidate to a single AR/VR chip (R2 ?), and frames to significantly slim down - a lot of competitors will either catch up or new competitors will emerge.

The VP does most of the basics correct. Lots of fundamentals bang on - now the iterations need to focus on making it ready for mass adoption.

Really do believe this is the future - the final shape and size will definitely differ.

Wow.

So this is the only person who can actually be seen wearing and using the headset.

Apple didn’t allow anyone else from taking photos or videos while using.

15 - $800 - $80K

15 Pro - $1000 - 135K

Add 5-7% tax on US retail rate. Still 10k difference between the non-pros.

45k delta between pros is an absolute joke.

Although 10k difference can be closed with CC discount. Maybe that's why they have hiked the price in the first place. Perception of a discount.

You missed 15 pro max starting at - 1199$- 160k.😂

What an underwhelming event. I literally dozed off in middle. Except for USB c and Titanium which makes pro models lighter there was nothing significant. Better to get 14 series all around.

Seriously, USB type c was the best thing and Apple did not put it themselves.

15 is a far better value, only thing is USB 2 speeds for 15 vs 3 for 15 pro but I don't think it will matter on 15.

And 15 does not have pro-motion afaik.

I think iphone 14 pro is of much better value today, not going to miss out on much and even 14 series will get usb c

Have read the same. 14 pro just seems better if someone can get the USB version. Although 14/14 pro don't have great battery life.
