gecko89
"Codenamed the Q Lite, the next PlayStation handheld is the next piece of Sony hardware that aims to be yet another piece of hardware that requires the PlayStation 5. Insider Gaming understands that the Q Lite is not a cloud-streaming device, but instead uses Remote Play with the PlayStation 5 – A feature the console giant has been pushing these past couple of weeks." So basically a controller with a giant screen for remote-play purposes. Expected to release between Disc Detachable PS5 and PS5 Pro. Deck runs games natively and don't need anything else, whereas this only does remote-play, PS5 is mandatory.

Forget new games, just being to play those older generation of games at a higher res and natively / via proper emulation would be kickass. KnackChap
Would be only interested if it can play all ps4 & previous gen games natively.
VelivolusDas
If it can only run games with the need for a constant connection to the main console, it's gonna be DOA. For sure. A handheld NEEDS to be able to play games natively. Period. Look at the sales of the Switch and the Deck and someone give a to Sony if they're even remotely (pun obviously intended) considering this. If they're not considering this, then give a to the person who started such faltu rumours.

RV1709
I’ve not subscribed to PS extra but the upgrade value shows rs. 2914 till Sept 2024. Kinda tempted? Would it make more sense to stack up PSN plus essential and then upgrade? Is there a better deal like that ala Gamepass?

Would'nt matter if you stack and upgrade or directly upgrade , both will cost same.

DevilsOwn
Hey all, been a while since i posted here. Hows everyone been? I have a n00b-ish question to ask. I am travelling to Japan later this month and was thinking of picking up a PS5 from there. is the console and/or the games region locked? and can i use my Indian PSN id on that PS5? No, PS5 games are not region locked. But the DLCs are. Which means, if you have a game disc which was purchased from Japan, you will have to buy the DLC from the Japanese PS Store. If you buy the DLC from your Indian PS Store ID, it won't be compatible with the disc. To answer your second question, you can use your Indian ID and it will work without any issues. Another thing to note is that some games might have the X and O button functionality reversed. Generally it's X to select and O to cancel (in-game menus, the console UI and all that). But for Japan (and maybe some other Asian regions), the functionalities are reversed. However, I don't see this as much of an issue because the PS5 settings gives you an option to map buttons across the OS. Maybe, just read up on this a little bit, since I'm not 100% sure. Not going to buy game CDs there. So should be OK ?

FYI. Flipkart won't refund or replace. If there is any issue with ps5 you will have to go to Sony service center and then wait for replacement. It's better to buy local and if online then from Amazon or Shopatsc.
