The VRR update is an absolute gamechanger! I am getting uncapped 120 FPS in FIDELITY mode for both Miles Morales and Rift Apart!

The frames do drop to the low 100s in R&C and 60-70 in Miles Morales, but its still buttery smooth and not noticeable without a frame counter. This is combining the shiny graphics of Fidelity mode with the buttery smoothness of 120 hz mode.

Tried Elden Ring and although the game doesn't support 120 hz, VRR has made its 50 fps dips a lot more smoother and the game feels a lot more responsive.

Cracking VRR implementation by Sony. Makes up for having to wait ages for it to drop. :clapping:

HZ isn't FPS.. its smooth but not 120 FPS

Fidelity mode in Miles and RA is giving about 45-50 FPS.. its not even 60 FPS..

Definitely game changer..

If it's being delivered in 120 fps package, hz might be twice actual fps to keep it smooth?

Elden Ring on xbox shows 90-120 hz reading but when set to 4k 60 mode it shows actual fps.

Yeah makes sense these games wont run 4k120 in Fidelity mode. But shouldn't Hz be a constant 120 or 60 depending on the mode? The counter on the TV shows a variable value depending on the on screen action.

Right I noticed that too but thats basically VRR doing the job.. In Non VRR games you will see that written as FIXED and same counter..
