We crossed 3.10 lakh cases, officially highest daily  number of cases in the world. With the curve not seeming to slow down how long do you think this wave will last?

we should start seeing it slow down due to lockdown. maybe a week more.

We got tested today but the result will take around 72 hours.

my sister lost sense of smell and taste today (3rd day since she had fever and cough) so i am sure it is going to be positive.

my father also developed fever and slight cough.

for reference he received his first dose of covaxin in April First week

F*ckin hell, 300,000+ cases per day, would not have dreamt we'd reach this state after the first wave dissipated. We let victory defeat us.

Mom got second dose just last week, she's showing weakness, however its same as few days after her first dose, so hoping its just an expected side effect. Reading all this news about how f*cked up the rest of the nation is, its slightly unnerving. Thankfully, my city is holding ok, as bad as the first wave but seems to be in control. Was supposed to go back to Bangalore this weekend, I'll probably postpone it a few weeks.

A question for those who have proper knowledge on this, Is there any danger in giving Covaxin to someone who has already been given 2 doses of Covishield?

There shouldn't be any danger but needs to around a month difference between the 2 vaccines, although there isn't much point in doing that right now. It's not like one vaccine greatly surpasses the other. And you will have to get boosters in future as well. Or maybe whenever Pfizer/Moderna is available. So for double vaccination, I would advise you to wait.

This is taking an emotional Toll.

Me and my father Tested +ve last thursday and have been isolating since then. We both are asymptomatic. (CT of 21) .  We took regular medication like antibiotic/ivermectin and multivitamins for 5 days. Regular monitoring of O2 levels, steam inhalation twice a day etc.

No symptoms but i started experience general weakness especially after starting those tablets and with doing all the house hold chores.

I got my blood tested and D-Dimer came to be on higher side(1300 correction, reading seems to be in ng FEU/mL which is around 650 ng/mL. Normal is < 250)  :( but all other parameters are fine. So was asked to start on anticoagulant for 5 more days.

I was hoping everything comes out fine and we push through this but these reports , medication, the wait for RT PCR negative, reading news all around. The mental stress is on whole another level, even though asymptomatic.

I can imagine.

The stress the entire thing is inflicting is at very different level. I cannot suggest you to get off SM,  because it is very important to remain connected, you may need help and SM is the greatest source.

With experience of people who have gone through, I can say listening to spiritual/religious stuff can help to calm nerves. You can spend couple of hours with father in any activity that could take your minds off, like carrom or card games.

Stay strong, you will get through this.

Yes just keep taking steam. My dad says it helped him most. Not sure scientifically how effective but probably works.

Steam is fine but please take it in limit, if you look at the recent records, cases for nasal and gastro burns have increased a lot. Mostly because of excessive steam and "kaddha" intake.
