I use my console to charge stuff all the time. BT plugs, headphones, Kindle, and controllers obviously. Its just incredibly convenient.

Read somewhere that XSX/XSS supplies 5volts over 900ma only (compatible with usb 3 spec). I don't think you can charge an iPad over it.

You’ll be surprised to know that not many ppl do that. 
but irrespective….on PS most of the ppl use the console to charge controller/headset. 
 

They all can’t be out of their minds can they. 
It’s the safest way to charge as recommended by manufacturers.
