They were trying to make it like GTA? Lol

This should be a lesson for every developer out there. Never try to copy Rockstar games when making open world games. Rockstar is king of the genre for a reason and any studio trying to copy them will end up destroying themselves, just like CDPR did.

W3 success ne deemag kharab kardiya CDPR ka. They started to think they're in same league as Rockstar lol.

haha...true.

GTA was super optimised on PS3/X360 as well.

Criticism is fine but ye Jason toh kutton ki tarah peechey padt hai.

He is like Arnab :P

 Arnab..no way....he is a chu....

We need reporters like Jason in gaming industry....otherwise all such things will be blamed on QA rather than higher management.

I played Witcher 1 on PC when it came out. Trust me, it had 5 minute loading times, unlimited bugs, and an awful combat system. If people had reacted the way they reacted to Cyberpunk’s launch then maybe there would have been no Witcher 3. Of course times were different but there are glimpses of greatness in Cyberpunk 2077. Wonder if they will get a chance to make a new one... it would be tragic if this ends up being their last game.

I am expecting an enhanced edition like they did for Witcher 1. They need to massively overhaul the AI too. GTA SA had a better AI and that came out 14 years ago.

Witcher 1 was not that well received though. It was considered a good game, but it did not exactly become the talk of the industry. Witcher 2 was a little better and was mainly well received after CDPR made the enhanced version and gave it away for free to all Witcher 2 owners. The story was great, but CDPR's act of giving away the tons of extras was more talked about than the game itself. CDPR became a household name only after WItcher 3. Before that - they were a niche developer who did not have much pressure or fan expectation on their shoulder. CDPR did not promise anything with Witcher 1 or Witcher 2. Just released the game - that's it. They promised a ton of stuff with Cyberpunk after Witcher 3, fan expectation were high, and then on a console that ran RDR2 and Ghost of Tsushima - they delivered a game that looked like an upgraded GTA San Andreas. That's where the problems come from. On PC you're all good, if you have a good HW. If you're running a low to mid end PC - you're right up there with Console owners. And even on PC - the city is nothing special. The writing is good, that's it. Otherwise it's an empty shell of a city and a grave of broken promises.

I think when the developers started pre-production they definitely envisioned an RPG set in a cyberpunk world

The Source material is a tabletop RPG. Played it once back in 2019 when world was still normal. Its pretty good. Too bad they they didn't stick to their scope.

Not sure which Journalism 101 class this is from, but journos don't get paid commissions based on clicks or views. They either get a fixed fee per article or are on a salary, both of which are below average media pay standards.

Well you’re right. Commission is a word mostly used in the real estate industry. As for journalism, your performance and growth are based on the quality and number of the articles and the traffic they produce. Hence Jason has to produce such articles to grow his position at Bloomberg.
